(Reuters) – Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) mentioned on Friday it experienced requested 1,800 electric vans from Mercedes-Benz for its European shipping fleet, as aspect of the on-line retailer’s options to run a carbon neutral enterprise by 2040.

The order is the premier for Mercedes-Benz’s electric automobiles to day and includes 800 vans for Germany and 500 for the United Kingdom.
